Sue Epstein, Judy Farber and Ditza Zakay, internationally recognized Children’s Recording Artists, Performers and Songwriters are the premier music educators in Early Childhood Centers in the Jewish community in the Greater Los Angeles area, the San Fernando and Conejo Valleys.

Performing as a trio since 2001, the Shirettes are LA’s newest musical sensation for Jewish kids and their families.  A Shirettes concert is fun-packed and energy filled with interactive Jewish songs for audiences of all ages.  Ditza, Judy and Sue blend positive, educational songwriting with catchy melodies and beautiful harmonies as well as amazing twists on old favorites.  Julie Silver calls them “a well-oiled trio”.  Together they have released 8 Cds and received a Parents’ Choice Award for their “Cha-Cha-Chanukah with The Shirettes” CD.  The Shirettes have performed at museums,  schools, libraries, synagogues, community centers Jewih Festivals, colleges, BJE and NAEYC conferences and Early Childhood Centers.

Each of the Shirettes respectively has more than twenty years experience teaching music to young children. Their combined qualifications include Orff certification, teachers certificate and early childhood credentials, and credentials from the Bureau of Jewish Education.  They have given many workshops and mentor workshops in Judaic Music through the Bureau of Jewish Education as well as workshops for CAIS (California Association of Independent Schools), and CAPSO (California Association of Private Schools Association).  They are members of the Jewish Music Educators Council of Los Angeles.  Each of them leads Tot Shabbat and Family Services in the Greater Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas.

Their high-energy concerts are made up of traditional songs, original songs, puppets and finger play, Judaic songs and holiday music, and a lot of audience participation.  The kids always want more, and the parents and grandparents love to sing along too.  Their presentation captures everyone in the audience, and their 45 minutes to an hour concert is a memorable event for the entire family.
